Contractor Network
Contractor FAQ
Everything you need to know about joining and working with the Bearded Brothers Moving contractor network. If something's still unclear after reading, complete your application and our dispatch team can walk you through it.
How does the application process work, and how long does approval take?
Start by submitting an application on the Apply to Join BBM page. You'll provide your crew or company name, a contact person, phone, email, base city, years of professional moving experience, and an equipment checklist. We require at least two years of professional moving experience. After we receive your application, the status is 'pending review' while our dispatch team checks your details. Approval timelines vary based on demand in your market, but most applicants hear back during the onboarding conversation. If your email was already used on a previous application, you'll see a clear notice, so use an email that hasn't been submitted before.
What equipment do I need?
All BBM contractors should be ready to work with their own gear. The application asks about dollies, tools, moving blankets, shrink wrap, ratchet straps, and floor protection. Floor protection is optional but recommended; the rest reflect what a working crew should have on hand. You'll confirm on the coverage radius form that your equipment list is still accurate, and you should keep it ready for every job you accept.
How do contractors get paid?
Specific pay details, rates, and scheduling of payments are discussed during onboarding once your application is reviewed and approved, so we won't publish numbers here. Generally, BBM connects approved crews with moving jobs in their market, and compensation terms are agreed during that onboarding conversation. Reach the dispatch team through the contact on your application if you have questions before then.
What are the photo upload rules?
After you apply, upload crew photos from the Upload Crew Photos page using the same email you applied with. Two to three photos are recommended, and you can upload up to 12 total per contractor. Each photo must be a JPG or PNG and no larger than 5MB. Photos are submitted for admin approval before they appear anywhere on the site, and an admin assigns each approved photo to a city gallery, so you don't pick the city yourself here. You'll see a Pending, Approved, or Rejected badge next to each of your uploaded photos once they're loaded.
What is the coverage radius for?
Your coverage radius tells dispatch your home base address and how many miles you're willing to travel for a job. It also captures your crew size and any priority zones where you'd most like to take work. This helps dispatch match you with the right local and regional jobs instead of sending you too far out. Submit it from the Coverage Radius page using your signup email. If you haven't applied yet, the form will let you know and link you to the application first.
What's the difference between Colorado truck service and Southwest labor-only?
BBM runs two service models depending on the market. In Colorado (Denver, Boulder, Colorado Springs), crews may run local, regional, and state-to-state jobs using company trucks, so Colorado applicants are asked whether they have a truck or van and for details about it. In Southwest labor-only markets such as Phoenix, Las Vegas, Austin, and the California cities, there is no company truck; the customer provides the truck, POD, or rental vehicle, and the BBM crew provides all the loading, unloading, packing, and heavy-item labor. The city hub pages explain which model applies in each market.
